Our Travel Essentials
We’ve done some travelling as you’ve probably noticed by now so, we wanted to share our travel essentials that make our trips that much easier (and fun!)
From photography and E-Sims to shoes & bags - these things have really assisted us in travelling efficiently and comfortably.
Fujifilm X-T5 Silver + XF18-55mm lens
This might sound dramatic but Fujifilm changed my life.
We upgraded to the Fujifilm XT-30 during 2020. It was a time where you couldn’t leave your house much…do you remember?
So, when we did leave the house to photograph anywhere else besides our house, it really brought us so much joy to have such a beautiful new addition to our lives to capture any beauty we could find in a tough year.
It’s become an extension of our arms, and our lives.
However, I now have the X-T5 and WOW IT IS UNREAL. If you have the extra money, I recommend the X-T5 over the X-T30, but if you don’t have the budget then the X-T30 is a brilliant camera and a great choice for travelling. Either way, Fujifilm4life.
E-Sim card
Gone are the days of buying a sim card at every airport, or even paying all those additional charges to use your regular phone! We can’t live without our E-Sim system now and recommend you jump on board with this new and brilliant way of staying connected!
You can buy your E-Sim through our partner HERE.
DJI Mavic Mini 3
This fabulous tiny drone shoots in 4k and we absolutely love him (Mav).
Proudly, we still haven’t lost a drone and that’s impressive because we love flying it just a little bit too high.
The DJI Mavic Mini 3 ‘Combo’ is a very compact investment if you’re into upskilling your photography. This took our photography to a whole other level and we highly recommend it for beginners. This drone also shoots in Portrait.
GoPro Hero9 Black
Our newest toy is the GoPro Hero9 Black. I am so impressed with this little guy. The GoPro takes high-quality videos and photos even though it’s so small! It’s so good to take out in your pocket or bag when you don’t want to carry around a larger camera. When I’ve got the GoPro on me I feel the least amount of pressure protecting my gear and I feel the least stressed about missing a perfect photo op because it does such a good job. It’s also waterproof which = LOTS OF FUN.
away luggage - carry on
The Away luggage carry-on in white is easily our favourite piece of luggage. The battery is a game changer and has saved us multiple times from airport boredom.
It looks fab, feels fab to strut through an airport with (you know exactly what I’m talking about) and I LOVE cleaning it when we get home from an adventure (is that weird?)
Manfrotto street slim backpack
We spent a while trying to find a backpack that would fit our camera gear, laptop, chargers, hard drives, tripod and personal things without being overly obvious that it’s full of expensive stuff! We were afraid of practical backpacks. We didn’t wanna lose our STYLE by compromising on comfort and functionality eye roll - however, turns out comfort and functionality is what dreams are made of.
This backpack really is one of the best I could find and although I’m open to other options, I’ve been travelling with this now for years!
It fits perfectly under an airplane seat and the compartment that holds the gamera gear can be removed and it turns into a regular backpack!
All Birds
We love these shoes so much and you know our favourite part? You don’t need socks! We hate socks. They’re liberating, comfortable and they never smell from the no sock situation because they’re made from 100% wool. They’re perfect for adventuring and small and light to fit in your suitcase. They are also machine washable and come out like new every single time.
Going Home Broke tote (Obviously)
The sneakiest travel companion of all time.
It’ll fit under your coat when you’re hiding your extra piece of carry-on from the flight attendants at the boarding gate.
It’s also perfect for shopping and the beach plus, you never have to be too precious about getting it dirty because that’s what it’s for!
We love ours. Buy one here!
