Review: White Pebble Suites

Intro

We’ll probably never stop talking about how fabulous Milos is. I’m not sure if there will ever be a Greek island that steals our very Milos-shaped heart but, I’m willing to see all of them so I can put that to the test!

Milos is just a magical place and I highly recommend you become one of the few that understand its magic and make it a priority on your Greek island list.

10 days out from our trip last September we had a hotel cancel our reservation without telling us. It was disappointing for us and so with only 2 weeks to go and accommodation incredibly sparse with such short notice I was beyond thankful and fortunate for White Pebble Suites to have had a last-minute cancellation and we were able to stay for 2 out of our 6 nights. I snapped it up so quickly and boy oh boy am I glad I sat there refreshing their website every hour just in case something opened up.

Let me tell ya all about it.

The Hotel

White Pebble suites opened on June 15th, 2021 and we were their guests only 3 months later.

Located in the North-East of Milos in the village of Pollonia, the hotel has a perfect little piece of land within walking distance to the shops and restaurants that Pollonia has to offer. If you have a car - everything on the island is quite easy and quick to drive to but Pollonia is considered a popular location so you might find that you don’t stray too far from this lovely area throughout your stay.

The hotel was started by three fabulous Greek-Australian women. I was so inspired by what they had dreamed up and created during the wonders of a global pandemic. It’s one thing to build a hotel but to build a hotel during covid – I can imagine it’s a very different experience. We just love architecture and design in case you didn’t already catch that and what we loved most about white pebble was the way every room faced the ocean. The pool and the view are absolutely the masterpieces of the property but even our standard room was not so standard as it still found a way to have a view of the ocean. It’s what gets me when booking hotels – you know prices will start at x but the price will be triple if you want to see the ocean. I hate that. I just love knowing that any room I book will have a beautiful view and at White Pebble – you will have just that.

With a design intended to prioritise the view of the ocean - from the minute you arrive, you are looking down the walkway that runs directly through the middle of the building which has all eyes on the pool therefore, all eyes on the view. As the light changes throughout the day, the hotel becomes even more beautiful. We know that this hotel will have great success!

The Rooms

As mentioned above, every room has a view of the ocean. There are three different rooms to choose from! The honeymoon penthouse suite sleeps up to 3 people and has a private terrace and jacuzzi. These rooms are on the top level of the hotel. Then you have the Cabana sea view suites directly facing the ocean on the edge of the hotel and sleep up to 2 people. They are on the ground floor and have a jacuzzi (we were really jealous). Then you have the deluxe sea view suites which are located in the middle of the hotel and sleep up to 2 people - and as I’ve mentioned twice now, they have ocean views! You can’t go wrong.

Everything was brand new and very comfortable and everything worked perfectly. At the time I didn’t realise they had only been open for 3 months. We had a wifi issue in our room but it was resolved quickly and we were provided with tequila shots to pass the time, haha and even though we were getting up at 5 am for our last-minute typical Greek island ferry timetable change - we thought this was brilliant.

The Food

Who likes breakfast!? I could eat it for dinner that’s how much I love it.

Breakfast is included with your stay and you get to spend your evenings filling out a little form before bed with what you want the next morning from the menu. A highlight for us. There is so much to choose from and it’s fabulous. It’s one thing I love about Greek hotel hospitality – the included breakfast! It is a significant part of a stay in our opinion.

I was raised to never have dinner at a hotel, more specifically I was raised to never eat at restaurants with photos of their food out the front ha – know what I mean? We always had to go adventuring and exploring and find the most local and authentic food we could (obviously something you should do) and avoid tourist areas at all costs. Something which I am very grateful for, I am also grateful that I was taken on holiday in the first place. So I mean it when I say the food at White Pebble is good. We had dinner one night out the front overlooking the water and it was great. The food is not as Greek as some restaurants you’ll find around the island but they have an in-house chef Vasileios Giannopoulos and he knows what he’s doing. They are simple items on the menu but they taste better than you’d assume and it’s a nice change if you need something other than Greek cuisine.

Throughout the day you can also order cocktails, coffees, and room service!

The Pool

Clearly - it’s gorgeous! There’s plenty of space and privacy. It’s the feature of the hotel and a selling point in why you should book this hotel. Let the pictures do the talking.

The people

We loved the staff. Our paths crossed with one of the owners on our first day and she was fabulous. We heard a little bit about the experience of building the hotel during the pandemic and couldn’t have been more impressed. As we mentioned before - Tequila. The staff are fun, friendly, and prepared to help make your holiday easier and memorable - thumbs up from us!

I highly recommend you book this hotel in advance. Although it’s only been open for a year – it’s going to be popular. We hope for huge success for this beautiful hotel – and secretly love the Australian connection (remember we’re Australian too)

Ok - so go to Milos, stay here and have fun!
