I was lucky enough to experience Seville with two of my best friends as a little winter escape from London. Never underestimate the power of a girl’s weekend away to Seville! Three girls surrounded by some of the best food in the world is always going to be a good combination. It was so good my mum and her best friend went back in June and replicated our Spanish weekend in this magnificent city.

Seville is the capital of Spain’s Andalucía region and it has a unique style that I hadn’t yet experienced in Spain. Seville is famous for its flamenco dancing – it made us cry because it was so good. We went to Seville in February, which is off-peak and in winter. It was a beautiful 15 degrees! Just like a London summer. We were very happy.

Where to stay

We recommend that the best area to stay is in the historic city centre. Everything is walkable within this area. Santa Cruz is the area in which The Real Alcazar is located so, it's ideal to be within walking distance of this – then you will be able to access absolutely everything you’ll presumably want to see. Plaza De Espana is slightly further out but also walkable. Taxis, metro, and buses are easy to catch.

We recommend Airbnb or check out booking.com for some good deals. Airbnb is usually a more affordable option and in Seville – you can get a really beautiful apartment for an incredibly cheap price. See our Airbnb Guide for more help.

Where to EAT

Coffee & Breakfast

Virgin Coffee
Calle Regina, 1, 41003 Sevilla
A little further north but depending on which part of the old city you choose to stay in, Virgin could be your local.

Torch Coffee Roasters
Ave. Paseo de las Delicias, 3, 41001 Sevilla
This was our local. It has good specialty coffee and great light breakfast options.

PANYPIU
Calle Cabeza del Rey Don Pedro, 15, 41004 Sevilla
Delicious bakery! Serving light lunch, coffee and so many amazing treats and pastries.

La Cacharreria de Sevilla
Calle Regina, 14, 41003 Sevilla
This is a good place to stop for breakfast when you’re visiting Las Setas De Sevilla. (affectionately known as the waffle building)

Dinner
Literally everywhere ok?

Cafe Bar Las Teresas
Calle Sta. Teresa, 2, 41004 Sevilla
Tapas. Tapas. Tapas!

El Pinton
Calle Francos, 42, 41004 Sevilla
This is the only place you should eat. Every night. Watch out for the Sangria though! It’s a mix of spirits, red wine and fruit woo.

Taberna Alvaro Peregil
Calle Mateos Gago, 22, 41004 Sevilla
We went here just before going to Los Gallos Flamenco and it didn’t look like much from the outside. They had some seats on the road so we sat outside people watching and the food was just amazing. I have a feeling all the tapas bars along this road would be fantastic.

what to do

The Real Alcazar

Please buy your ticket for €7 online at the official site only – otherwise you’ll be lining up for hours waiting to buy a ticket and get in. We recommend buying it online and sailing on through past the hundreds of people in line. Smile and wave as you push past all of them. Enjoy your organisation.

Plaza de España

A magnificent Spanish landmarkGo wander around, enjoy all the beautiful tiles. Take some photos and just enjoy – especially in the summer where you can hire rowboats around the Plaza. Costs roughly €6 for 30 minutes.

Aire Baths

For a girls weekend – this could not have been any more perfect. The most basic option you can book at Aire baths is the 90-minute slot to enjoy the baths. It’s roughly around €40 per person and you should book online or call to book before it sells out. Trust me - it sells out.
You can add to your spa experience with massages, drinks and more.
We loved the salt bath on the very bottom level which you just float in, like the dead sea. It was a really lovely place to chill out.

Check out the website for more info.

Flamenco at Los Gallos

This specific place was recommended to me by a true Spaniard whose brother is a flamenco dancer. There are 2 shows every night every day. An 8 pm show and a 10 pm. The performance runs for 1hr 30 and included in the ticket price is a free drink (Have the sangria!) There are lots of options to see Flamenco in Seville but I believe we experienced one of the most authentic flamenco nights in the city – especially because of where the recommendation came from.

The price is €30 a ticket with a drink. It’s the most magnificent 2hrs of extreme, passionate flamenco dancing. Flamenco is so much more intense than I realised, and I am so glad we saw this amazing performance.

This is a must-do in Seville.

Book online here.

Plaza del Cabildo

A beautiful plaza that's hidden just behind the main square of the old city. The architecture is beautiful and it’s worth checking it out. We spent a good 40 minutes here (taking self-timer photos of ourselves eating doughnuts - I’m not joking)

Las Setas De Sevilla

The waffle building. WOW. This place is so cool. A must see!

Buy some ceramics

There are some famous ceramic shops in Seville and you will come across shops everywhere.
Populart is one of the more expensive and more well known ceramic shops and it is beautiful! I recommend a little shop called Tenderete - check them out on Instagram here.
Find them at Calle García de Vinuesa, 27.

These were by far my favourite ceramics and the prices are so good. There’s no excuse to not take something home! I sent my mum back here on her trip to bring me more!

EAT

I’m not sure if I made this clear enough so I wanted to make it a point.
Eat out! I know eating out when traveling can be expensive and we would normally only budget ourselves one or two meals out at night depending on how long we’re away for, but Seville’s food is not to be missed, and its affordability is good. The value is very good.

If you’re looking for a great and reliable transfer - we recommend booking through our favourite partner HERE

If you need an E-Sim whilst travelling (we recommend you get one!) then you can book through our partner HERE.

Enjoy Seville x
